  1. SLR-  single-lens reflex (SLR) camera is a camera that typically uses a semi-automatic moving mirror system that permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system (after a very small delay)
  2. TLR- A twin-lens reflex camera (TLR) is a type of camera with two objective lenses of the same focal length
  3. Shutter- a shutter is a device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time, for the purpose of exposing photographic film or a light-sensitive electronic sensor to light to capture a permanent image of a scene
  4. Shutter Speeds- shutter speed is a common term used to discuss exposure time, the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open
  5. Bulb- a shutter speed setting on an adjustable camera that allows for long exposure times under the direct control of the photographer
  6. Cable Release- Cable Releases are the mechanisms attached to cameras that allow photographers to snap photos from a distance
  7. Tripod- Tripod is a word generally used to refer to a three-legged object, generally one used as a platform of some sort
  8. Light Meter- A light meter is a device used to measure the amount of light
  9. Bracketing- bracketing is the general technique of taking several shots of the same subject using different or the same camera settings
  10. Hot Shoe- hot shoe is a mounting point on the top of a camera to attach a flash unit
